Epworth is Journeying Toward Justice – and you are invited to join us! Two groups are being organized to visit the Race: Are We So Different? exhibit at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. The exhibit is free, but tickets are required. Group reservations have already been made for the two dates on which Epworth groups will visit. If you choose to visit the exhibit on your own, go to the museum website (http://naturalsciences.org) to reserve a ticket or call the box office at 919-707-9800. Participants can expect to spend approximately two hours at the museum, plus travel time. Epworth groups will go on these dates/times:
Saturday, August 5th at 1 PM (leave Epworth at 12:15 PM)
Friday, August 11th at 10 AM (leave Epworth at 9:15 AM)
If qualified drivers are available, Epworth’s church bus will provide transportation; otherwise, groups will travel in private cars.
On Sunday, August 13th at 3 PM, those who have attended the exhibit (either as part of an Epworth group, or on their own) are invited to participate in a conversation about what we have learned. This conversation, facilitated by Epworth members and staff, will take place in the Fellowship Hall. Child care will be available on August 13th by request (please contact Betty Matteson at ematteso@gmail.com).
To sign up for either museum trip and/or for the Sunday conversation, call the church office (919-489-6557) or email Betty at ematteso@gmail.com. We hope you will join us!
